Travel and Pet Passports
Microchipping your pet is always worthwhile and indeed is now mandatory for all dogs aged 8 weeks or older. We encourage all pet owners to get their pet microchipped in case of straying, loss or accident.
Each year there is a National Microchipping Month in June (see our News page), and last year we had many clients take the opportunity to get their pet "chipped" at a reduced fee. Even if not required for travel abroad, pets have a habit of going "walkabout" occasionally, and a microchip can help reunite everyone as soon as possible.
A reminder that microchipping is a requirement for Pet Passports (formerly the PETS Travel Scheme). For more details on taking your pet abroad click on the PETS logo.
Remember, your pet can be chipped at any time and this can be done by our nurses via their clinics. To book an appointment or for further details contact the surgery.
For further information on Petlog - the Kennel Club's national microchip database scheme - and to learn more about responsible pet ownership and help safeguarding your pets future, please contact www.petlog.org.uk/nmm, or call them on 0870 606 6751.
